Conditions for Workplace Learning as a New First-Line Manager in Elderly Care

Abstract The purpose of this article is to explore first-line managers’ experiences workplace learning in elderly care, with a particular focus on the conditions for when entering new as manager. Qualitative interviews were conducted 35 managers from three organisations Sweden. Four emerged being particularly significant managers: previous professional experience, job-specific training, social support, and joint repertoire organisational arrangements.
